Reprographic Costs Regulated At The Financial
Services Authority
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is the independent body, accountable to Parliament,
whose role is to regulate the 29,000 firms in the financial services industry. It has wide powers
for rule-making, investigation and enforcement. The public profile of the FSA has recently been
raised during the recent credit crunch and banking crises, both as the creator of financial regulations
and fighting financial crime.
Reprographics Centre
The FSA employs over 2,500 people, most of whom are based at its Headquarters in Canary
Wharf, where there is a large reprographics centre. The FSA maintains its own reprographics unit
for reasons of security and speed of turnaround. As a government body, spending public money,
it is acutely aware of cost and, whilst security and quality cannot be compromised, cost savings
are always demanded of suppliers.
The FSA outsourced the running of the reprographics centre some years ago and recently re-tendered
its print and reprographics centre at Canary Wharf via the rigorous assessment procedures of the
European Journal. The outcome was the appointment of Pavilion as print and reprographics
managers.
Central Reprographics produces 3 million colour and 5 million black and white copies p.a., the
FSA being characterised by large volumes, tight deadlines and high security. Much of the
enforcement work is Court submissions.
Pavilion put forward an innovative risk reversal model in our commercial proposal for the operation
which has shown the FSA significant cost reductions. And, since Pavilion is an ISO27001 accredited
security printer it was able to give the procedural reassurances required to meet the most stringent
of security issues. All of the copying and printing equipment supplied by Pavilion is fitted with data
security kits; staff have detailed background checks undertaken and rigorous procedures on the
disposal of waste and data gave the FSA confidence to appoint Pavilion.
If you have a print or reprographics requirement and are looking for cost savings without
compromise call Pavilion for an initial discussion on 0845 021 0055. For more information please contact us.
